OUR STORY

How we started

 

Hi there, my name is Michelle and I have always enoyed baking ever since I was a little girl.  One of my favorite childhood memories is my mom, sister and I in the kitchen making chocolate chip cookies. 

 

I am a stay at home mom of two amazing boys.  They are my everything and they have shaped me into the mother and baker that I am today.  If I did not have my two boys I would not have chosen to be in this business.  I started making cakes when my first son was born.  I was a stay at home mom and I did everything including custom making his party decorations, invitations, cake, the works.  I was absolutly determined to make his birthdays amazing. 

 

My first cake was a Sesame Street themed cake.  With a lot of trial and error I have perfected my skill and decided to open up my own business.  I offically opened in August 2012.  Since then I have been perfecting my skill and knowledge of the industry.  When my clients order cakes I do a ton a reseach before I begin my creation.  I spend hours creating my cakes and it is all worth while when I see my clints face light up and they have nothing to say but hug me.  It is 100% rewarding so thank you for choosing Once Upon A Cake By Michelle Gemmell.
